Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Hebua account and the personal data linked to it. Hebua is developed by Kife (Nairobi, Kenya).

Delete data without deleting your account

You can remove your finance data and keep your Hebua login. Choose any of the steps below.

• Delete all finance data: Profile → Data → Delete all data. Removes transactions, categories, and budgets on your device and in the cloud. Your account stays active.
• Delete one transaction: Open the transaction on Home and delete it.
• Stop SMS capture: Settings → turn off SMS auto-capture (no new SMS data is processed).
• Email request: Email support@hebua.co.ke with subject "Delete my Hebua data" and what you want removed.

Deleted: selected transactions, categories, budgets, and synced cloud copies. Kept: your account email/login until you request full account deletion below. Payment records may be kept where required by law. Raw SMS is never stored on our servers. Data deletion requests are completed within 30 days when submitted by email; in-app deletion is immediate.

Delete your full Hebua account

Option 1 — In the app (recommended)

1. Open Hebua and sign in.
2. Tap your Profile icon (top right).
3. Scroll to Data → tap Delete all data.
4. Confirm the prompts. This removes transactions, categories, and budgets on your device and in the cloud.
5. Tap Sign Out when finished.

To remove your login entirely, email us using Option 2 below so we can delete your auth account.

Option 2 — Email request

Email support@hebua.co.ke from the same address as your Hebua account with subject "Delete my Hebua account".

What we delete

• Account (email, user ID, profile name and photo)
• Transactions, categories, budgets, and cloud sync data
• Subscription records tied to your account
• Local app data when you use Delete all data or uninstall

What we may keep

• Payment records required for tax, fraud prevention, or legal compliance (retained only as long as required by law)
• Support emails about your deletion request (deleted after the request is completed)

Raw SMS messages are never stored on our servers. SMS is processed on your device only.

How long it takes

In-app deletion is immediate for app and cloud finance data. Full account deletion via email is completed within 30 days. We will confirm by email when finished.
